Golf League Software Cost per Player: What You Actually Pay

Golf league software is priced one of three ways: per golfer, per round or registration, or a flat price for the season. Gimme is flat. League is $199 per season and League Pro is $299 per season, with unlimited golfers and no per-golfer fees, according to Gimme's home page. Cost per player only matters if the vendor bills per player, so that is the first thing to check.

Quick version

  • Per-golfer pricing grows as your roster grows. A flat season price does not.
  • Gimme: League is $199 per season, League Pro is $299 per season, unlimited golfers, no per-golfer fees (source).
  • The free trial is the first 3 league rounds with no card (Gimme pricing page).
  • A flat price is not always cheaper. For a very small league, a low per-golfer rate can win. The break-even math is below.
  • Ask every vendor the five questions in the checklist near the end before you pay anyone.

The three ways vendors charge

In our read, league software pricing falls into three models. This is our judgment of how the market splits, not a sourced statistic.

Model What you pay What to watch
Per golfer Rate times the number of golfers The bill climbs as the league fills up. Check minimums and what counts as a golfer.
Per round or registration Rate times golfers times rounds A long season multiplies the rate. A 20-week league is 20 charges per golfer if the rate applies weekly.
Flat per season One number Check for caps on golfers, rounds or courses.

The per-round model is the one that surprises commissioners. The rate looks tiny on the pricing page. Then you multiply it by every golfer and every week.

What Gimme charges

Gimme is flat season pricing. Here is what the company lists on its own pages.

  • League: $199 per season (Gimme home page).
  • League Pro: $299 per season (Gimme home page).
  • Course: $99 per month or $990 per year (Gimme home page).
  • Every plan comes with unlimited golfers and no per-golfer fees (Gimme home page).
  • Free trial: the first 3 league rounds, no card. The trial includes every feature in League Pro and unlimited golfers, and after round 3 you can still view everything (Gimme pricing page).

There is no cost-per-player line to compute. A 12-golfer league and a 60-golfer league see the same season price. We know that sounds like a sales line, so the next section puts numbers on it.

The math, with made-up rates

Here is a made-up example, not real data. Say a vendor charges a flat $6 per golfer per season. Say a second vendor charges $12 per golfer per season. Neither rate is a real vendor's price. Compare them with Gimme's $199 League price (source).

Golfers in your league Made-up $6 per golfer Made-up $12 per golfer Gimme League
16 16 times $6 is $96 16 times $12 is $192 $199
24 24 times $6 is $144 24 times $12 is $288 $199
40 40 times $6 is $240 40 times $12 is $480 $199
60 60 times $6 is $360 60 times $12 is $720 $199

The break-even points follow from the same numbers.

  • At $6 per golfer, $199 divided by $6 is about 33.2, so Gimme League costs less once you pass about 34 golfers.
  • At $12 per golfer, $199 divided by $12 is about 16.6, so Gimme League costs less once you pass about 17 golfers.

You can also flip it around and see what Gimme works out to per golfer. $199 divided by 24 golfers is about $8.29 each. $199 divided by 40 golfers is about $4.98 each. The per-golfer figure falls as you add people, because the price stays put.

Now a made-up per-round example. Say a vendor charged $1 per golfer per round. A 24-golfer league playing 20 rounds would pay 24 times 20 times $1, which is $480. Again, the $1 is invented. Swap in the real rate from the vendor you are looking at.

What other vendors list on their own pages

We quote a vendor's price only from that vendor's own site, with the date we read it. We skip prices from review sites and roundups, since those go stale and sometimes get copied wrong. For a side-by-side of features, see our compare page.

Fareway. Its own compare page lists per registration pricing of $2 to $6 per competition (Fareway's compare page, checked October 29, 2026). Fareway sells golf league and tournament software, so that is its description of its own pricing. How a weekly league maps to registrations is a question for Fareway.

ScrambleSync. Its guide lists $149 for a single event and $790 per year for the Season plan with unlimited events (ScrambleSync's pricing guide, checked October 29, 2026). The guide works out $149 for a 100-player event to $1.49 per player, which matches $149 divided by 100. ScrambleSync sells golf tournament software, and its plans are built around events, not weekly leagues. It still shows how a flat price turns into a per-player cost: the bigger the field, the smaller the number.

The same guide warns that some platforms charge a 4 to 5% processing fee on registrations, which adds $48 to $60 on $1,200 in registrations (ScrambleSync's pricing guide). Again, ScrambleSync sells tournament software, so read that as one vendor's warning. It is still a good reminder to ask about payment fees.

For every other vendor, open the pricing page, copy the rate and run the table above with your own roster size.

Questions to ask any vendor before you pay

Copy these into an email if you like.

  1. Is the price per golfer, per round, per registration, or flat per season?
  2. What counts as a golfer? Do substitutes, guests and members who miss weeks count?
  3. Is there a minimum number of golfers or a cap on rounds?
  4. What fees apply when the league collects money through the software?
  5. What happens to our data and standings when the season ends?

If a vendor cannot answer the first question in one sentence, that tells you something.

What is and is not live today

Check the feature list before you compare prices, because a cheaper plan with missing features is not cheaper. Gimme's features page says text messages, AI features and dues collection turn on before the 2027 season. Treat those as not live yet. If you need them this season, plan around that.

What the same page does list: round robin schedules for 4 to 32 teams, balanced nines and tee times, one-tap rain-outs, and scoring for 10 formats from stroke play to scramble and Stableford (features page). The demo league lets you click through it.

When per-golfer pricing is fine

This is our opinion. If your league has 8 or 10 golfers and a vendor charges a few dollars each, per-golfer pricing may cost less than $199. If you only need a place to track scores, a free golf league spreadsheet may be enough. Flat pricing makes more sense when the roster is large, when it changes during the season, or when you hate explaining invoices to a committee.

The choice is yours. Add up the season cost with your real roster, not the best case on the pricing page.

Courses

Courses pay differently. Course is $99 per month or $990 per year (Gimme home page). Twelve months at $99 is 12 times $99, or $1,188. The annual price is $990, so paying yearly is $1,188 minus $990, or $198 less than paying monthly for a full year. Golfers are unlimited on that plan too.

Try it before you compare further

The fastest way to check the math is to run a real league through it. The first 3 league rounds are free with no card, so you can see your own roster in the software before you spend a dollar. Start your league free.

Frequently asked questions

Does Gimme charge per golfer?

No. Gimme lists unlimited golfers and no per-golfer fees on League at $199 per season and League Pro at $299 per season ([Gimme home page](https://gimmeleague.com/)).

Is there a free trial?

Yes. The free trial is the first 3 league rounds with no card, and after round 3 you can still view everything ([Gimme pricing page](https://gimmeleague.com/pricing)).

How do I work out cost per player for my league?

Divide the season price by the number of golfers. For example, $199 divided by 24 golfers is about $8.29 each. For per-round pricing, multiply the rate by golfers and by rounds instead.

What does Gimme cost for a golf course?

Course is $99 per month or $990 per year, with unlimited golfers ([Gimme home page](https://gimmeleague.com/)). Twelve months at $99 is $1,188, so the yearly price is $198 lower.

Is flat pricing always cheaper than per-golfer pricing?

No. In the made-up example above, a $6 per-golfer rate stays cheaper than $199 until about 34 golfers. Run the numbers with the real rate and your real roster.
